# Introducing Kapell, a music player

I made a music player.

* * *

Holy shit it’s been 6 years since I wrote a blog post here. \[raps microphone\] is this thing on?

I really love music and to that end I’ve developed [Kapell](https://kapell.fm), which is an Apple Music player that connects to [MusicBrainz](https://musicbrainz.org), [Wikidata](https://www.wikidata.org), and more. It aims to improve *active* listening, giving you a way to learn while you listen.

[I wrote about using Kapell to listen to Rolling Stone’s 500 Best Albums of All Time](https://kapell.fm/blog/2026-08-01-rolling-stone-part-1/) and I hope you’ll check it out!
